Seeking only answers to whom I belong and from where I came.
Traveling back in time not to judge anyone, nor to lay blame.
With help from the living to records did I obtain,
Pictures with stories, I treasure each in a frame.
So many answers I found, never again to be the same.
To an ancient family of battle fame,
A Grandfather I found in gentle earth lain.
This man who gave me, what I now have the right to gain,
by what he risked for a new country, his family and his name.
For my American Patriot, I come before you to make my claim,
with a man who came from afar, to a country he had first to tame.
Finding myself not only in his ancient name,
but in his convictions we both hold dearly the same.
Love for our family, this country, and it's creed do herein remain.
I come now to give honor to the United States and my name.
I now stand with him in terrifying battles and on open plains.
Never giving up in the cry of freedom's birthing pains.
